The temperatures did not drop low enough last night for grooming, but I don’t think the trails suffered too much from the mild. The temps rose to a high of +3 for a few hours only.Â
Joe just returned from opening the hut and noted that nothing froze overnight. The surface should still be soft enough for good skiing. It’s hard to say if the fresh snow will help or hinder the skiing. The surface should be good for skating and the snow will nicely coat the diagonal track, but when the temperature is hovering around freezing, the new snow can ice up waxless skis. If the temperature is dropping it might not be a problem for them. If you have a grip and glide wax for waxless skis, this may be a good day to try it.
