Joe just finished touching up the skating surfaces with the Ginzu. There is a thin layer of fresh snow in the diagonal track so it should be perfect.
Conditions were prime for both skating and classic yesterday and may be even better today. Remember the GanderInvitational and Lakeside Loppett are next weekend. Ski your kilometres now and get ready for the events.
Most of the skiing is outstanding but there are patches of dirt in a number of places so ski with caution particularly on the hills. The Gold (the entry from the Blue trail) has patches of dirt but the rest of the trail is perfect until you get to the very top of the hill before the entry to the pink. The first 200 m of the Red Extension and the hill on the Black Extension have some dirt and a couple of bare patches are developing on the Pink hill. The Red is excellent.
Instuction in skating tomorrow
10:30 Friday, March 11 in front of the hut. The club, unfortunately, does not have skating gear for loan. The lessons will be brief introductions and anyone who wants to drop by for a few suggestions on technique is welcome. If you are interested but can’t make this session, indicate what’s the best time for you.
