Due to mild temperatures, trails are closed today. The hut will be closed and lights off tonight.
Joe is on the Bearcat now touching up the skating surfaces. Most of the diagonal track is still good. There is lots of very good classic and skate skiing despite the dirty spots that get thinner with each grooming.
Ski today for tomorrow. With the temperature rising overnight we won’t be opening tomorrow. Once the temperature drops we’ll see if grooming is possible.
Gold double engagement/wedding ring somewhere on the ski trails yesterday. If found call 256-4233.
Jeremy just finished touching up all the trails except the gold which we haven’t groomed yet. The track is still good from earlier groomings. There is lots of good skiing but ski with care. The groomings have dug up dirt in places. In most places it is just dirt and can be skied over but be careful since there can be rocks in there too.
We ask snowshoers to stay to the sides of the trails but until we can groom the Gold snowshoers can keep packing down the full width of the Gold trail. As well snowshoers have been using the snow shoe trails. Check the attached map to see how you can access the Old Pine Trail from the Gold.
Today’s flurries added up and we were finally able to groom. Joe was on the Bearcat before the snow stopped and then Jeremy took over. They packed most of the trails with the Ginzu but did not set a diagonal track. We will wait for a little more snow before setting a track. In places the layer of snow barely covers the ground beneath. Conditions should be good for both classic and skating but ski slowly and cautiously as you may strike bottom. Skaters should be particularly careful as they’ll be digging deeper as they push against the snow.
LIGHTS ARE ON TILL 10 PM BUT THE HUT IS NOT OPEN AND SKI LOANS ARE NOT YET AVAILABLE

The lack of snow down at the trails has not stopped some of our club members from getting out to enjoy our favourite sport ! Here are some members, looking great in our club colours, taking advantage of the smooth surface down at Cobbs pond. They don’t let the lack of groomed trails slow them down!
