The last snow system gave us good snow cover and good snow for grooming. The skiing is excellent. Every inch of trail is groomed. Joe is out on the Bearcat and Ginzu and is well ahead with the grooming. He’s set a new track on many of the trails and firmed up the skating surface. Get out and enjoy the beautiful day

Here is a notice from Paul :

Seeing how the snow has finally returned, seemingly for the season, and that snow coverage is good we will start our smaller, more casual club races in the coming days. These “events” are VERY casual and all skiers are welcomed to attend. (They’re basically just to be viewed as a workout more than a race).

Friendly 5k Fridays

This season we are going to try doing weekly 5k events. THESE ARE NOT GROUP START, meaning skiers will simply go out individually from the start line at 1minute intervals (This is done to take away that “race” feeling), so it basically just like going out for a 5k workout. No pressure. Skiers will do the stadium, purple and the red and then finish back at the stadium. NO placings, NO rankings, just times for marking self progress. Start time this week will be 4:30pm so if interested, please show up a few minutes before. These start times will get later as the days get longer.

( This would be fun practice for anyone considering doing the Gander Invitational next weekend 😀 )

Tuesday Night Sprints

The 1.5 km Tuesday evening sprints will begin on this coming Tuesday. Skiers will ski down the stadium, around lower then upper blue and then back up the stadium. These mini “races” have been happening for a few seasons now and attendance is growing steadily. Anyone is welcome to come out, skate or classic, adult or junior. Start time is 7pm so all we ask is that interested skiers get there a few minutes before so that we are ready to go on time…also, as always, there are prizes(!)

If you have any questions about either event, please email ansc.coach@gmail.com . Neither event will interfere with regular skiing so if you have no interest in these but just want to go for a ski, hopefully we’ll still see you on the trails 🙂
