Feb 22, Grooming, Lessons and Update
Grooming
Conditions should be excellent today for both classic and skating. Terry Nippard was on the trails at 4:30 am grooming the Black, Red, Purple, Green & Gold. Roy did the black extension last night and the other trails the night before
Cutting
Trail work never ends on Monday Ed Collins cut a large spruce that was hanging ovewr the Gold and a couple of other trees that were problems elsewhere. Yesterday Joe and his chainsaw cut some tree that were problems on the bottom of the pink.
Tickets
We have only a few days left to sell CCNL Junior Development Tickets and a lot of them to sell. As usual we are asking anyone taking lessons to buy a ticket. Tickets are available in the hut, send an email to ansc.email@gmail.com if you can’t get to the club to buy one. Please support the Junior Program by purchasing a ticket.
Lessons
Today at 10 am Beginner’s lesson. This will be an introduction to classic skiing rather than to skating.
Feb 28 Skating Instruction 7 pm, Tuesday for beginners and experienced skaters.
March 3 Free Skiing and Beginner’s Instruction (this session is part of Gander’s Winter Carnival and is directed at non-members)
On Saturday, March 3 the Airport Nordic Ski Club is offering free skiing from 10 am to 4 pm with hot chocolate in the Ski Hut. There will also be free ski lessons for beginners between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Some ski equipment is available for loan. For more information go to www.airportnordic.ca.
